CAREER NIGHT SPONSORED BY LANDER COLLEGE FOR MEN

March 9, 2006 - On Tuesday, February 28, 2006, Lander College for Men in Kew Gardens Hills sponsored a Career Night. The evening program was an opportunity for students from around the New York metropolitan area to learn more about planning and preparing for a successful and satisfying career.

The program was co-sponsored by many prominent local high schools, including Davis Renov Stahler Yeshivah High School, Hebrew Academy of Nassau County, Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway, Mesivta Ateres Yaakov, Mesivta of North Jersey, Moshe Aaron Yeshiva High School, North Shore Hebrew Academy High School, Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School, Rambam Mesivta, Rav Teitz Mesivta Academy, Torah Academy of Bergen County, and Yeshivah of Flatbush Joel Braverman High School.

Participants were welcomed by Stephen Brown, chief financial officer of IDT Corp. and chairman of the Board of Overseers of Lander College for Men, and Jeffrey Katz, senior attorney at the law firm of Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy, LLP, member of the Board of Overseers of Lander College for Men and chairman of the Career Night program. Participants were also greeted by Dr. Moshe Sokol, Dean of Lander College for Men, and Dr. Charles Snow, Dean of Business Programs.

Mr. Brown, in his brief remarks, focused on the challenges involved in pursuing a successful career while also maintaining a strong commitment to Torah values and a religious lifestyle.

Mr. Katz remarked, "Lander College for Men is a highly-selective and intensive program of Jewish and academic studies, and we recognize that our students are interested in learning more about career opportunities and the long-range planning that is a necessary part of the process. We also recognize that students, even before they enter college, are thinking seriously about career choices. We therefore made the decision to invite local high schools and their students to participate in this important program."

Dean Sokol noted, "Lander College for Men graduates, despite the school's short history, have been very successful in securing attractive job offers, as well as admission to highly-ranked medical schools, law schools and other academic programs. The College's students have received offers of admission to Yale Law School, Harvard Law School, Georgetown University Law Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, the schools of dentistry at Columbia, NYU and University of Pennsylvania, as well as other prestigious graduate and professional programs."

Keynote speaker Peter M. Kash and Dean Moshe Sokol

The evening's keynote address was delivered by Peter M. Kash, co-founder and chairman of Two River Group Holdings, LLC, and president of Riverbank Capital Securities, Inc. Mr. Kash focused on the many well-known and successful individuals who suffered setbacks prior to achieving success in their careers.

Following the address by Mr. Kash, participants chose among three concurrent sessions. Students interested in law attended a session led by Yaron Reich, a graduate of Columbia University School of Law and partner at the law firm of Cleary Gottlieb; students interested in medicine attended a session headed by Dr. Jacob Walfish, a graduate of Harvard University School of Medicine and Assistant Clinical Professor at Mount Sinai School of Medicine; and students interested in business were able to attend a session moderated by Michael David, a graduate of the Boston University School of Law and a Director with Deutsche Bank Alex Brown.

The evening was brought to a close by Kenny Charles, a former NBA star and College All-American who talked about his own experience transitioning from the NBA to a new career and stressed the importance of working at what you most enjoy. Mr. Charles graduated from law school and worked in the financial services field before returning to his true passion, and is now a successful coach and general manager.
