CAREER FAIR FOR STUDENTS AND ALUMNI OF TOURO COLLEGE
March 15, 2006 – On March 21, 2006, Touro College’s Office of Career Services will be sponsoring a career fair for students and alumni of the College. The career fair will be held at the Puck Building, located at 295 Lafayette Street at the corner of Houston Street in Lower Manhattan, from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. Students and alumni from all disciplines, except law, seeking full-time positions or internships are encouraged to participate.
The Office of Career Services helps students to conduct an effective career search. Services provided include helping students assess their own interests and strengths so that their searches can ultimately lead to a satisfying and rewarding career, as well as workshops and one-on-one meetings to improve resume preparation, interviewing and networking skills. In addition to providing students with the skills and tools needed for a career search, the Office of Career Services also works to match students with potential employers. The College now sponsors career fairs and is working towards offering on-campus and in-office recruiting opportunities. In addition to the March 21st fair, a career fair for accounting majors was recently held.
More than 20 employers have committed to participate in the career fair, including Goldman Sachs, AXA, New York City’s Department of Education, Maimonides Medical Center, MetLife, Sterling National Bank, Washington Mutual Bank, Internal Revenue Service, Hebrew Academy for Special Children (HASC), Israel Aliyah Center/Jewish Agency for Israel and Nefesh B’Nefesh.
