Course Description

Who should take this course?

This course is for those of you that have never taken an Anatomy course or if you want to ease the pain of the first few weeks of medical school, by mastering the Basics of Anatomy. Anatomy at TOUROCOM is a fast paced intense 10 credit course that is taught in the first semester and this course will prepare you to get a head start.

The very first week of your Medical school you have 12 hours of Anatomy lectures and 12 hours of Anatomy lab. This course was designed for students to get a head start on a class that is one of the most time consuming and difficult subjects. By the end of the first week, students are completely overwhelmed at the amount of material that is covered in a short period of time and this course would provide an excellent foundation. 

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Introduction to Anatomy is a four week course that is taught by the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine faculty. This course covers Anatomic terminology and all the systems of the body and their function. By the end of this course you will have a sound foundation of the basic systems and their functions. This course will also provide you with study techniques, and teach you how to answer multiple choice questions. There will be a lab component with demonstration of prosected cadavers and dissecting techniques. Classes will run Monday to Thursday from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm. You will take a few exams that will not be graded, but are administered to give you an idea as to where you stand with understanding the material that is being presented.  You will receive a certificate at the end of the four weeks.

 Your performance on this class does not in any way affect your admission to TOUROCOM.
