As the Dean of Touro College Los Angeles (TCLA), I take great pride in the achievements of our college and our students. TCLA is the only regionally accredited Orthodox Jewish College in the West Coast. As such, we have undertaken to provide a quality education in an environment that is consistent with our religious heritage.
Touro College Los Angeles opened with its first class in the fall of 2005. The college has grown greatly since our initial year of fifty-five students. We now have nearly a hundred students who are who are taking full advantage of the educational opportunities offered by TCLA. Our students are motivated and committed to their education and teamed with our fine faculty and staff we have created a warm and friendly community.
TCLA is fortunate to be able to draw from the vast experience and commitment of Touro College New York. At Touro College students pursue their academic and professional goals without sacrificing their personal growth as Torah observant Jews. Touro College New York has over thirty years of experience. It has the distinction of having its graduates accepted to the most prestigious graduate and professional programs in the country, such as Harvard, Columbia, New York University and Einstein Medical College.
Touro College Los Angeles boasts an outstanding faculty. Almost all of our instructors have Ph.D.’s from prestigious universities. They serve as tremendous role models to our students. In addition, the small class size enables a close interaction between professor and student. The students are able to maximize their individual potentials and thrive on both personal and academic levels.
Touro College Los Angeles has the ability to grant credit for Judaic courses previously taken at yeshivas and seminaries. TCLA requires a minimum of twenty-four credits in Judaic studies. Touro students may fulfill this requirement on campus or through their previous past high school Judaic education.
