Dr. Herskowitz presentation focused on several aspects of Teamwork, beginning with the importance of teamwork in the successful management of a technology staff. He then analyzed the special characteristics of teamwork, using as examples the top performing teams at IBM. He ended his talk with several tips for students about how to get ahead in an Information Technology career.

Dayna Gonzalez, Research Artist for Nickelodeon, will speak in Professor Scharf’s class, WMM 640, Principles of Animation, on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at 6:15 PM. Ms. Gonzalez is an award winning animator and designer with over a decade of experience on a variety of broadcast, film and web productions. She serves on the board of the NYC chapter of the Association Internationale du Film d’Animation and edits its blog. Ms. Gonzalez will speak on the topic of “2D Flash animation in the Workplace,” in which she will show her reel and samples of her work and talk about how she has adapted her style and knowledge to meet workplace needs and trends.

WMM 608 / Introduction to Multimedia Technology
Mr. Michael McMahon will be the guest speaker in Professor Antony O’Hara’s class, WMM 608, Introduction to Multimedia Technology on December 15, 2012. As a 3D Computer Graphic Animator, Mr. McMahon is responsible for creating motion graphics for various ESPN Sports broadcasts, including college football and basketball, Golf and tennis tournaments, NBA professional Basketball games, and NASCAR races.
Mr. McMahon will speak about and present his work and will answer student inquiries about their own interests and careers.
