The Nepalese Society at Touro College was established in October 2010 under the Supervision of Professor Arjun Mahat of the Computer Science Department. Professor Mahat, who originally came to Touro College as an international student, helped to organize the Nepalese Society as the number of Nepalese Students at Touro had grown considerably. He and Mr. Narayan Malla, also an international student, organized the Nepalese Society to help students socialize and find answers to any questions they might have living in a foreign country. As its first priority, the Nepalese Society helps Nepalese students share resources, benefit from academic advisements, learn about the specifics of immigration Status, provide access to scholarship information, and share their personal ideas and much more.
The Nepalese Society holds an Annual Meeting each year at which the members meet for hour or two, share information and ideas, and meet new friends.
