  • For the first time, health and education professionals are able to measure personal human metabolism through a non-invasive 10-minute breathing test using a portable FDA-approved computer originally developed by NASA for the U.S. Space Program.
  • Students enrolled in the Advanced Certificate in Bariatric Science program, as subjects and scientists, learn the many practical applications of the new and necessary area of Bariatric Science.

ariatric Science is an evidence-based science that focuses on the research, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of obesity(s) and its related biopsychosocial disorders. The goal of this New York State registered Advanced Certificate in Bariatric Science Program is to provide specialized bariatric science education and training for already licensed/certified health and education professionals from diverse disciplines. The 12-credit series of courses is offered only to Master's-level and Doctoral-level students who wish to continue their professional development in the specialty of bariatric science. The program is available to mental health practitioners, medical doctors, allied medical professionals, public health educators, nutritionists, teachers and other professionals who wish to enhance their education, advance their disciplines and share a genuine concern for those suffering from the full spectrum of obesity(s) and related disorders. Being awarded a NYS registered Advanced Certificate in Bariatric Science affirms that you completed a specialized graduate academic training program in Bariatric Science.
