Other Sources of Information
Other important sources of
information available to Touro Students include:
- The Dean of Faculty, division
heads, site coordinators, department chairs, and faculty in different academic
departments provide academic advisement regarding majors, required courses, etc.
Very often, faculty are also good sources of information on various graduate
- The Dean of Students - in addition
to the areas already enumerated, this office provides information about the
application process to graduate and professional schools of business, law, and
medicine, admission to Touro's professional programs and schools, course
scheduling information for the Flatbush Campus and the Manhattan Campus of LAS,
academic scholarships, graduation ceremonies, the Israel Option Program,
academic honor societies, student disciplinary issues, student activities
(clubs, student government, newspapers, etc.), student health insurance, and
other facets of student life. The Dean of Students also serves as an
ombudsman for student complaints.
- Pre-professional Advisors
including those in law, medicine and dentistry, accounting, allied health
sciences, education, psychology, and speech pathology.
- The Registrar's Office provides
graduation checks which should be done at the end of the junior/beginning of
senior years. It also plays a very important role in the evaluation of tranfer
credit from other institutions.
- Office of Career Placement -
information about full and part time jobs as well as Summer jobs and
internships. It also provides assistance with job search skills, resume
preparation and interview techniques.
- Learning Resource Centers and
various tutoring programs in SGS and SCAS.
- Financial Aid and Bursar's
The first source of information for
all students is the Touro College bulletin for the relevant school. Students
should also consult the Student Handbook. While every student has at his/her
disposal a range of resources to assist in making choices regarding academic
life, the responsibility for the fulfillment of all degree requirements rests
with the student.
